Smoking is Expensive...Do The Math! TM

The End of Smoking?

“The Week” magazine recently published an article titled: “The End of Smoking”?

While it correctly states that smoking rates have dropped significantly, one sentence really stood out: “while smoking rates dropped 62 percent among high-income families from 1965 to 1999, they dropped only 9 percent among low-income families.”

Exactly.

The high costs of cigarettes hurts lower income, financial vulnerable people the most. $300 a month might not mean much to a smoker making $150,000 a year, but when smoking a pack a day equals the loss of a monthly car payment or health insurance bill, quitting TRULY has a tremendously positive financial effect on a smoker’s life. Not to mention the beginning of reversing the horrendous health effects.

The article went on to say: “only 70 percent of current smokers say they actually want to quit.” Well, smokingisexpensive.com’s unique calculator is now one more effective and useful tool to help smokers quit this costly and unhealthy habit.
